Arcata City Trail Description

The Arcata City Trail is a 1.5-mile multi-use pathway, extending from Sunset Ave. south to Samoa Blvd. The paved path is both a recreational and transportation asset, linking to destinations including Arcata High School, Arcata Skate Park and Larson Park).  The trail forms the northernmost segment of the Humboldt Bay Trail, a trail project in Humboldt County that is projected to be a 13-mile non-motorized corridor that links the cities of Eureka and Arcata in northern California.

Past Samoa Boulevard, the trail continues as Humboldt Bay Trail North, south through the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary. The Hikshari Trail is a discrete segment at the southern end of the Humboldt Bay Trail route. It is 1.5 miles long.

Parking and Trail Access

While there is no designated parking area, you can park at Larson Park near the trail's north end. The park is located at the end of Eye Street, and you can use the sidewalk on Jay St. and then cross Sunset Ave. to access the start point of the trail.
