Overview
The Austin Woodhouse Scenic Loop is a 2.5-mile loop trail near Albertson, MT. The trail connects to the Mineral County Rails to Trails project on either end.
Please note that the eastern section of the trail is closed between February and mid-summer each year to protect nesting eagles.
The trail is open to non-motorized use.
About the Route
Leaving from the western end of the trail near the Crystal Springs I-90 Exit 95, the Austin Woodhouse Scenic Loop runs south until it reaches the former Milwaukee Road rail corridor, where the trail follows the Clark Fork River until reaching the next segment of the trail heading north. The trail is rural and largely forested, treating trail users to scenic views throughout.
Connections
Trail users can also access the Mineral County Rails to Trails from either end of the loop, and form a complete loop.
The Austin Woodhouse Scenic Loop runs between Tarkio 1-90 Exit 61 (Albertson) and Crystal Springs I-90 Exit 95 (Albertson). Trail users can park on either end.
