Also known as the Belton Rail Trail, the trail runs from the heart of Belton north towards Williamston. Beginning from the Belton Library, the trail travels north within the former Southern Railway corridor, paralleling Main Street. The wide, paved trail attracts a broad swath of users, including walkers, joggers, and cyclists. The third phase of the trail extended it to Leda Poore Park, which acts as the current northern trailhead. A bridge takes users over the railroad tracks that lie north of Calhoun Road, allowing the connection to the park.
Lighting, fitness equipment and benches are among the trailside amenities provided.
You can begin at the Belton Library (91 Breazeale St, Belton, SC) and head north, or start from the Leda Poore Park (14367 HWY 20, Belton, SC) and head south.
