The Big 4 Trail will eventually connect all of Boone County, from the Marion County line to the south, to the Clinton County line to the north. A large portion of the rail-trail is already complete. Whitestown's portion is completely paved, including a new trail head and plenty of parking at 104 S. Main St. in Whitestown.
The trail highlights the historic railroad route upon which both the Lincoln Inaugural Train and the Lincoln Funeral Train traveled in 1861 and 1865, respectively. Walkers, runners and bikers can enjoy the paved trail winding through tree canopies, farmland, and the historic downtown.
The trailhead is located at 104 S. Main St. Whitestown in the heart of Whitestown's historic downtown. There is ample parking in newly paved lots on the east and west sides of Main Street at the trailhead.
