C-13 Canal Greenway Trail offers a paved, flat, and open route from the outskirts of Oakland Park through Lauderdale Lakes.
The trail runs between NW 52nd Ave in Lauderdale Lakes and the intersection of NW 21st Ave & NW 39th St in Oakland Park.
From its western end on NW 52nd Ave in Lauderdale Lakes, the trail runs along the southern bank of the canal. It passes Vincent Torres Memorial Park (4331 NW 36th St, Lauderdale Lakes), which offers parking, a playground and fields for a variety of sports.
Crossing the canal and US Highway 441 (State Road 7), the trail parallels the northern bank of the canal as it meanders along backyards. The trail's eastern end is at the intersection of NW 21st Ave & NW 39th St in Oakland Park.
There are palm trees and a few benches along the route.
Parking is available at Vincent Torres Memorial Park (4331 NW 36th St, Lauderdale Lakes).
This is a great trial that actually goes all the way to 21st street so the trail is much longer than states here. And is completely pathed with little to no traffic all times of the day!
I ride this trail frequently and like to plan rides around riding a portion of this trail. There is even lighting along some parts of the trail which is nice in the evenings. You will see plenty of people walking on the trail.
My wife and I really enjoyed walking this short walk. It was great seeing all the wild life. The people along the way were extremely friendly. They said more than just hi.
The large iguanas were the highlights.
The only thing missing was a few benches for people could sit and enjoy the scenery and the enjoy the great Florida weather in December.
