Although only about a mile long, the Colorado Trail runs between two trails with connections to well-loved outdoor experiences in the central Oregon city of Bend. From its northern end, you can connect to the Deschutes River Trail that hugs the banks of its namesake waterway for 12 miles. From its southern end, you can connect to the Haul Road Trail that stretches 3 miles southwest to the eastern border of Willamette National Forest.
Along the way, the paved trail parallels Colorado Avenue (also known as Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway) and connects two parks with river access, fishing opportunities, and restrooms: McKay Park and Farewell Bend Park.
Parking can be found in nearby Riverbend Park (799 SW Columbia Street); take the sidewalks along Columbia Street to reach the trail.
