The Darrell Creek Trail & Park Ave Bike Path is a 1.3-mile shared-use path that briefly follows Commonwealth Rd before continuing on the road, Darrell Creek Trail, for the majority of the route. The trail makes a final turn to follow Park Ave Blvd before ending by the intersection of Carolina Park Blvd and Park Ave Blvd. This 8-foot wide asphalt path winds through Mount Pleasant residential communities and alongside wooded areas. The path provides pedestrian connections between local communities and access to nature from the intersection of Deer Creek Rd and Commonwealth Rd until it ends by the Wando Mount Pleasant Library, where it meets the southwest end of the Carolina Park Boulevard Bike Path.
Although not included in the main route of Mount Pleasant Way system, both the Carolina Park Boulevard Bike Path and the Darrell Creek Trail & Park Ave Bike Path are part of the roughly 47-miles of connected off-road shared-use paths, trails and greenways. They are among the paths that are included in the system to provide connectivity to the primary route of the Mount Pleasant Way. The nearby Grey Marsh Road Bike Path is another.
Access to the path is available at the intersection of Commonwealth Rd & Deer Creek Rd and at the intersection of Park Ave Blvd & Carolina Park Blvd, as well as at any point along the bike route.
