The Yvonne duFort Evans Ashley Riverwalk is located in downtown Charleston. The walking and biking path is named for a former Charleston city councilmember and is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll along the water, taking in the sights and sounds of the Ashley river. The wide, concrete path parallels Lockwood Drive. At one end of the trail is General William Moultrie Playground, a public park with facilities for tennis, pickleball, basketball and softball. The park is adjacent to Colonial Lake, a tidal pond with wide walking paths. At the other end of the Yvonne d. Evans Riverwalk lies the marina, where boat enthusiasts can spot a variety of watercraft.
There may be parking available at the public tennis courts at General Moultrie Playground located on Broad Street, across from Chisolm Street. There is a permanent restroom located at the same park at 41 Ashley Avenue, with a bike share station beside it.
