The Fountain Creek Trail follows its namesake creek through the northeastern neighborhoods of Pueblo. At its southern end, the paved pathway ties into the Arkansas River Trail, which runs east-west across the city. The two trails are part of a larger network known as the Colorado Front Range Trail, which will one day span Colorado from Wyoming to New Mexico.
On the northern end of the Fountain Creek Trail, a spur heads east to Walking Stick Golf Course and Colorado State University.
A trailhead parking lot is available at the south end of the trail off S. La Crosse Avenue, just north of its intersection with Stockyard Road. The closest parking lot to the north end of the trail can be found at Haaff Park, just south of the intersection of Mohawk Road and Taos Road.
