The Golden Eagle Trail leads from suburban neighborhoods in northern Sparks into the Golden Eagle Regional Park, a sprawling recreation complex with a host of athletic fields, located on the edge of development before the dry foothills take over the landscape. The trail leads south from Vista Boulevard, following the perimeter of the park - the wide concrete path offers a flat, direct means of getting to the site.
At the southern end, the trail merges into an asphalt pathway as part of the Pah Rah Interpretive Trail, a short, paved loop trail that provides lovely views of the surrounding hills and the chance to learn more about the sagebrush that dominates the surrounding fields. Providing great opportunities for exercise and a chance to explore some of the area's natural surroundings, the Golden Eagle Trail is a nice asset in this growing suburban community.
Parking and restrooms are available in Golden Eagle Regional Park, located on Homerun Drive just off of Vista Boulevard in Sparks.
