This 0.6-mile trail, which is the first segment of the new Grand Kankakee Marsh Trail, begins where the Erie Trail ends in North Judson.
About the Trail:
Beginning at East Sycamore Street, the Grand Kankakee Marsh Trail extends along the former Chesapeake and Indiana Railroad for about 0.6-miles north-west. The paved trail begins at the conclusion of the 11-mile Erie Trail (otherwise known as the North Judson Erie Trail). The trail forms part of the Great American Rail-Trail, and efforts are underway to continue extending the trail to the Kankakee River.
Connections:
This trial is part of the Great American Rail-Trail, and connects to the Erie Trail, which runs southeast from North Judson to County Road N 700 E.
There is a small parking area located near Main Street & North Street. Street parking is also available on Sycamore Street.
