The Haskell Rail-Trail, billed as the ‘first operational rail-trail in Kansas’, spans the eastern edge of the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence. In the north, the trail connects to the Burroughs Creek Trail and Linear Park, which heads closer to downtown Lawrence.
Eventually, the trail will become an integral component of a partial loop around Lawrence: the planned construction of a new portion of the S. Lawrence Trafficway will include an eastward extension of the S. Lawrence Trafficway Trail, which will be just a couple blocks shy of the Haskell Rail-Trail’s southern endpoint.
Parking for the Haskell Rail-Trail is available on the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University off N. Perimeter Road.
Parking is also available at the Burroughs Creek trail connection.
