I-74 Bridge Bike and Pedestrian Path Description

A separate path for biking and walking on the I-74 bridge over the Mississippi. There's an easy connection to the Great River Trail on the Illinois side and a poorly marked short road connection to the Mississippi River Trail on the Iowa side. There are great views of the river and at the high point there is a window in the pavement so you can look down at the river below.

The path is fully separated from traffic, 14-feet-wide and ADA accessible.

Parking and Trail Access

On the Iowa side there is parking at the 12th street trailhead for the Mississippi River Trail. It's a short ride or walk to the I-74 Bridge bike path. There isn't any dedicated parking on the Illinois side, but it does connect directly to the Great River Trail.
