Maah Daah Hey Trail Description

The Maah Daah Hey Trail traverses 144 miles of scenic North Dakota prairies and badlands. Notable sites along the trail include China's Wall, a dramatic rock at MM130, and Devil's Pass, a narrow ridge that crosses between two hills at MM102.

There are several options for camping along the trail that allow for multi-day journeys, as well as trailheads with water fountains.

Bikes are not allowed in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which the Maah Daah Hey Trail crosses twice, the South Unit for 8 miles and a short traverse through the North Unit of the park.

Parking and Trail Access

There are numerous parking options long the trail, including campgrounds at either end of the trail.
