Mission Hike and Bike Trail in southern Texas is anchored by the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park. Within its 760 acres, more than 300 bird species have been found and its World Birding Center is a not-to-miss destination.
From the park, the paved, 5-mile route winds east through scrubland and over two bridges to end at S. Conway Avenue. As the trail is relatively unshaded, be sure to bring sun protection and plenty of water for the journey.
Parking is available on both ends of the trail: at Mission Nature Area on S. Conway (just south of Expressway 83), and in Bentsen RGV State Park (2800 S. Bentsen Palm Drive).
Rode the entire trail today. Nice trail some mud from recent rain. It’s a paved trail but could use some TLC
Quiet and peaceful ride
