While the idea is to have a bike-ped loop around the city of New Ulm, on the ground there are two discrete off-street segments of trail. The first is 4.9 miles long, from 20th Street to Broadway, threading through South Market Park, South German Park, German Park, Johnson Park and North Broadway Park. It cuts through a mix of residential, commercial and largely industrial areas. As such, it's in a perfect position to be both a recreational pathway as well as a commuting route for local residents.
The second segment parallels Highland Avenue for two miles between Garden and 7th Streets in a suburban farmscape.
The two segments may be bridged using on-street and sidewalk routes as shown on the city website (See the related links on the right-hand-side of this page).
