Northwestern University Lakefill Description

The Lakefill is 74-acres of reclaimed earth, that juts out into Lake Michigan on Northwstern University's Evanston Campus.

About the Route

In addition to a one-mile asphalt path, the Lakefill is also often filled with hammockers and other's enjoying the grassy lakeside space. Trail users will be treated to lakeside views and glimpses of downtown Chicago. The trail is best accessed from either the Regenstein Hall of Music or the Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium.

Parking and Trail Access

The Northwestern University Lakefill runs between the Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium and the Regenstein Hall of Music, although there is no public parking there.

Public parking can be found at:

  • 1847 Campus Dr. (Evanston)
  • 2311 N Campus Dr. (Evanston)
