The Pacolet Nature Trail is a paved trail in the quiet rural community of Pacolet, located along the banks of the Pacolet River. The trail matches the sleepy nature of the town, providing trail users with a pleasantly tranquil experience as it runs through undisturbed woodlands in an area just south of the river. Be sure to keep your eye out for local wildlife and birds on this scenic route; the trail begins at the town's middle school (with convenient parking right next to the trail entrance) and ends at the local amphitheater. If you find yourself in the Spartanburg area and are seeking a nice dose of natural recreation, the Pacolet Nature Trail certainly fits the bill!
Parking is available at the western end of the trail at the middle school, located on Sunny Acres Road. To reach the trail from Spartanburg, take U.S. Highway 176 south and east to W Main Street in Pacolet, and proceed east on Main Street. Turn left onto Sunny Acres Road and follow the road for several miles until you reach the middle school.
