The Petersen Park Path is a short trail for biking and walking that helps residents of the neighborhoods in northwest Eugene access the charming Petersen Park. An asphalt pathway runs along a utility corridor behind a row of suburban homes, spanning between Echo Hollow Road and Hughes Street, while a concrete path runs through the small city park, weaving around the baseball and soccer fields before reaching Royal Avenue. The Petersen Barn Community Center, a popular venue for local meetings and recreational activities, is also located within the park.
Parking is available at the park, located at 870 Berntzen Road just north of Royal Avenue. Restrooms are also available in the community center during operating hours.
This little path is a great connector for this neighborhood. It runs along a gully and is completely paved. It almost feels like two different paths that meet in the middle at Petersen Barn Park. There is also an unpaved parallel on the opposite side of the gully heading east from the park.
