The Ram Trail is a close to 2-mile trail beginning at Holt High School where there is access to tennis courts, soccer fields, softball and baseball diamonds and playgrounds. The trail runs eastward through town of Delhi as well as the Holt downtown area to Eifert road. Several schools are within the area and Kiwanis Park. Also, a connection is made to the Valhalla Trail through an enhanced sidewalk that is adjacent but separate of the main road. This leads to the rest of the trail system going north to Lansing and the campus of Michigan State University.
Parking is available at Holt High School ( 5780 West Holt Road, Holt, MI 48842) and at the Holt Road Trailhead Park (Holt Road & Michael Ave, Holt, MI 48842), which also includes grills, picnic tables, portable toilets and bike racks.
This short & smooth trail is a pleasant but very brief through a secluded marsh/wetland spot.
You might want to consider walking this one instead of another mode of transportation, as it's over before it really begins.
Still, I would recommend the trail to anyone looking for one.
Excellent trail¿¿
The Ram Trail links three Holt Public School buildings to “downtown” Holt along a very busy high seed road. There is monomial parking at the east trailhead and large school parking lots at the west trailhead. For the intended use it works.
No place to park and the scenery is not great
