The Ranshaw Way Trail is a sidepath trail for biking and walking in the suburban community of North Liberty, outside Iowa City. The trail runs along the side of Ranshaw Way/Highway 965 for over a mile, providing a paved and largely-flat pathway for transportation and exercise.
While the roadside nature of the trail means trail users will have to deal with more road crossings and a less-scenic environment than they might prefer, the pathway helps provide convenient access to and from the neighborhoods and shops along the route, and serves as a nice complement to the North Ridge Trail that runs parallel to the east. The trail switches to the other side of the road at Penn Street, where a number of businesses and eateries are located just off the path.
Parking for the trail may be available at nearby businesses; be sure to follow any posted parking signs and regulations.
