Rich King Memorial Greenway offers a paved, north-south route along the east side of Naples. It extends 3 miles through a powerline corridor with residential neighborhoods to either side and canal views on its southern end.
When the project was first being considered, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy assisted with the negotiation of land easements from adjacent landowners, as well as with the trail feasibility study. The trail opened to the public in 2011 and was named after a radio host who had lived in the area for many years and was a valued community member.
Nice wide cement path from Radio Road to Rattlesnake Hammock Rd then turn right and you are quickly at East 41. This is a straight north and south path.
Not much scenery and no shade. It is more just a paved sidewalk behind some neighborhoods. It's wide and clean.
On my way back from Key Biscayne up the west coast of Florida on my way to Sarasota (Spring Training) I stopped in Bonita Springs/Naples to ride this trail plus the John Yarbrough Linear Park Trail. I rode it in the afternoon after an early supper. I parked in the St Peter Apostle Catholic Church parking lot and rode the three miles north and back. The trail is clean and smooth. It was being used by walkers and other cyclists. There is a sidestep to a crosswalk to get across a major blvd. An enjoyable short ride. I was staying in a Hampton Inn in Bonita Springs.
