At just over a mile, the Riverview Trail provides a short, easy route through northwestern Albuquerque with open vistas and neighborhood views. The trail begins at Mariposa Basin Park, a popular destination for families with its playgrounds, sports fields and picturesque pond - the Mariposa Basin Recreation Trail runs throughout the park, offering another lovely option for fun and exercise.
Running north from the park, the trail proceeds along a tree and shrub-lined corridor along the east side of Golf Course Road, then leaves the road to run along a fence behind large suburban homes in a pleasant and secluded corridor. Eventually, the trail comes to an end behind a cul-de-sac, where it links up with the scenic Piedras Marcadas Trail, enabling trail users to extend their journey to the east or the northwest.
Parking is available at Marisposa Basin Park on the trail's southern tip, located at 4900 Kachina Street NW.
