The West Medicine Lake is a 2.7-mile paved non-motorized pathway connecting two major regional trails: the Medicine Lake Regional Trail in Minneapolis and the Luce Line Trail in Plymouth. The trail starts where Medicine Lake Regional Trail meets Rockford Road. The trail follows Northwest Boulevard/ County Road 61 along the border of Clifton E Regional Park, then continues on West Medicine Lake Road to the park of the same name. The lower third of the trail is a real treat – it leaves the road and ventures into the park and right up to the beach. Even when the trail merges with the road later, its right on the edge of Medicine Lake. The shared use trail comes to an end just before a railroad, which is paralleled by the Luce Line Trail.
Park at West Medicine Lake Park (1920 W. Medicine Lake Drive, Plymouth). You can also park your bike there and venture out to the beach. There are picnic facilities, a playground, restrooms, drinking fountains, basketball and sand volleyball courts
Very nice path, bridges through wetlands. Lots of wildflowers. Leads to a nice beach and great playground.
