Mingo Trail

In Bad Need Of Maintenance

July, 2025 by jcwright23

This trail needs MAJOR maintenance south of the TCC campus. Tree limbs are growing out over it, preventing bicycling. The grass in places has grown 6 inches in from each side. The part going under the Creek Turnpike needs to be re-surfaced in some areas & have runoff dirt 3 inches deep removed in others. I call it the Kilimanjaro Trail leading to the hiking area where the turnpike diverges. It's like navigating a jungle to pass through it.

Centennial Trail (OK)

Super Trail!

April, 2025 by dpate

I rode the Centennial Trail in mid April in a weekday morning. The trail is in good shape and very few people. I was able to hammer most of the way. I recommend checking this trail out. I give it five stars though it could use some cleaning up. Traveling cyclist Facebook

Liberty Trail

My favorite trail around. Well maintained and plenty of hills. I start at the NSU trail head and ride to where it meets the creek turnpike trail then head back. Some parts have plenty of shade, some no shade. There are benches and a bathroom stop.

Old Frisco Trail

Forgot to mention that parking is now at the trail head instead of Ballpark as mentioned in the description.

Greg Smith River Trail

A place to practice your spin.

May, 2023 by tim.billings1

Nice, fairly flat trail along the levee built to contain the Arkansas River when it gets too high. Lots of room to practice moving those feet in circles when riding your bike. The official length says 4.7 miles but if you go end to end it's a little over 6...about 6.2. One caution. As of 5/21/23 there are no functional bathrooms available on this trail. On one end they were all locked, on the other all were destroyed and non-working or locked. Overall, a nice trail but plan ahead.

Old Frisco Trail

An overall pleasant trail

October, 2022 by ufonut

I walked / jogged the entire distance of this trail and back one recent Sunday morning / afternoon. A nice, mostly tree lined trail with mile markers along the way. Be careful if you are running this trail though because there are about ten signs at residential and commercial streets stating that “traffic does not stop.” My only complaint is that after a few miles the scenery gets rather boring and routine - plus there is the constant road noise nearby as well. Towards the end of the trail things got a bit rough and slightly overgrown but I actually rather enjoyed this wild and wooly portion before doubling back to the car. Highlights were the overall excellent condition of the trail, a bench or two to take a load off, a couple of water fountains, and a large pond off trail that was a welcome change of scenery. High

Mingo Trail

Could be a vary good trail.

This could be a very nice trail IF the city would maintain it as well as they do River Parks. It is fully paved or asphalt, but some of the asphalt is in bad shape. The main downfall is the homeless camps and all the trash they bring along with them. Under almost every bridge there is trash and broken glass. By each park, Boeing and Hicks, there will be trash and broken glass. I ride this trail 90+ days a year and am always saddened by its condition.

Creek Turnpike Trail

Great running trail

Versatile, can be a short 4 mile run or make it a half marathon run (or more) as it connects to the River Park trails. Wooded at parts and sometimes a little loud bc proximity to the highway but pleasant and pretty. Some hills sprinkled in but otherwise flat; beware of narrow paths and bikers going too fast and the occasional close call of being clotheslined by dog leashes lol.

Phase one is now finished, 6.2 miles one way, asphalt & concrete. Plenty of parking at both ends. Follows Arkansas River & on top of the levee with several deer crossings. Downtown section has a lot of foot traffic, benches & goes close the the new US Marshall’s Museum.

Awesome Trail

Ran my first half marathon (virtual) on this trail. Trail is fully paved and is mostly flat. Well maintained and we enjoy running it. You can do out and backs or park a car at either end of the trail and do the 6 mile one way. Plenty wide for trail traffic without any issues. Beautiful scenery along the way.
