Stones River Greenway

headed back soon

July, 2020 by danielfarmer

i started at percy priest dam. very nice paved greenway. there is a bridge out (june 2020) a few miles in, from the dam side. there are a few options for going around it, but nothing all that orthodox. i accessed an apartment complex, then rejoined the greenway at a little ball park. not a huge detour. later, i took wrong turn near the old ravenwood golf course, but if you don't see a sign, just hug the river and that will get you through. otherwise i'd say the signage is good. i'm headed back soon to continue on to shelby bottoms and make a bigger ride out of it.

Love that it’s a loop and has such scenic variety. Great 3 mile distance.

A favorite in Nashville!

Easy parking and multiple trail heads - near Kohl’s and the YMCA in Hermitage. A lot of shade and some incline variability.

Beautiful bridge connected to great flat path

Easy parking at wave country, follow left down the hill (opposite way extends further), beautiful bridge that leads you to a long path that connects to East Nashville park.

Lake Barkley Bridge Multiuse Path

i'm going back

May, 2020 by danielfarmer

this trail is one of my new favorites. i started on the east end and traveled west. the off-road trail signage is a little lacking, but you never really get too far going the wrong way before you figure out you've turned wrong. the off-road part between the bridges is very fun. lots of gravel and dirt trail. i saw no washed out parts. they have grating installed to prevent washout in at least one spot. i didn't look at the map closely enough before going. the majority of this trail is off road trail! and it is very fun! nothing too steep or sharp on the hills or curves. just fun riding.

Love to bike Nashville!

May, 2020 by jjtilly3179

We are from Iowa and love to vacation in Nashville. We stay out by the Opryland Hotel and ride to the trail and connect at Two Rivers Park by the school. We can ride clear to downtown. So much fun and better than fighting the traffic, especially during CMA Fest! We have rode in the beautiful countryside on the backroads where there is little traffic. So beautiful and scenic!!

Clarksville Greenway

very nice trail

May, 2020 by danielfarmer

this trail is great. nice views, great canopy of shade, some hills... it had tons of people out on it today. the only thing i didn't love was there is signage on the trail for bikers to dismount before going down steep hills. they are quite steep with sharp turns, so i could see there being some close calls with pedestrians. the southern half of the trail had a lot fewer walkers, so it made for better biking. there are lots of dirt trails that shoot off into the woods that say not to ride a bike on them, but they look like they are open to hiking.

Muhlenberg County Rail-Trail

fun ride

May, 2020 by danielfarmer

saw some wild turkeys, beavers, an oriole, and other wildlife. pavement in great shape. nice and wide to accommodate walkers/joggers/cyclists. the maintenance crew was out cutting the grass today too, keeping it well kept up. nice little trail. wish we had more like it around south central KY.

Lake Barkley Bridge Multiuse Path

Bridge to bridge

April, 2020 by marjoriewillems

This trail starts west of the Kentucky làke bridge and ends east of the lake Barkley bridge. The middle is crushed lime stone. 3.5 Miles on the east end are paved as are about 2 miles on the west end. The route follows the Fenton area roads from the bridge pathway to the trail head. The paved section is open and stone section is shaded. It goes by the golden pond visitor center which has water and rest rooms.

Hopkinsville Rail Trail

Plenty of trees with Little River running down part of the trail. Seasonal flowers. Photo ops. Grassy picnic areas.
