Pretty disappointed in this trail. Really not a rail trail with sharp turns and step ups and downs. Best for mountain bikes with knobby tires. Even walking on it will wear down sneakers quickly. Would love to see them pave this trail!
Rode the trail on Christmas Eve 2025 and it was an absolute great ride. The ride did come with a few detours due to some building on the upper side of downtown but quickly turned into a really wide open beautiful view of the Cumberland River. As with any great city, Nashville has its challenges with a few unsightly images on this trail due to bad decisions of people and government the same I did, however notice a lot of work being done to maintain the trail with trimming trees and keeping the trail safe with signs and lighting. Overall, I gave this four out of five stars and enjoyed all of the things I got to see, including downtown Nashville, passing by an old Fort, lots of old buildings and history, the baseball stadium, and the beautiful scenic views of the Cumberland River.
Dropped in at Barfield Road trailhead and headed up, 15.3 miles out and back on a beautiful summer day. Cicadas were loud and the birds were singing! Our first time on the trail after reading all the reviews and we loved it! Every city in America should be made to put in one of these to this caliber. Murfreesboro should be proud! Lots of people enjoying this day.
The construction south of I-24 is done. You can now get all the way south to Barfield Park.
All of us are wondering why the City is taking so very long to open the Board Walk Section. People are climbing the fence and using it now. I called and Metro said it is unsafe, yet they have abandoned working on it for us all to use. They finished the Clover Bottom area to the TSB, but they are not working at all on the Board Walk. All of us are truly saddened that Metro is just to busy to handle the work over here for us.
Construction still in progress so cannot ride complete from one trail head. Overall though was a beautiful, well maintained greenway.
Rode to the north trailhead and just south to i24 where the trail is now under construction. Nice amount of traffic and we even saw some wild turkeys. Would come again if ever I pass through Murfreesboro again.
The trail is a super easy, enjoyable walk. Not a lot to see along the way, but plenty of fresh air.
Too much city and behind industrial plants
Fun paved pave along the Stones River thru Civil war battle sites. Ride thru shaded canopies, under bridges over bridges, winding thru field. Deer jumping across the trails. Bunny rabbits hopping around in the fields. Great ride at sunset to dark. Enjoy!
