Provo River Parkway

The trail is closed about a thousand yards west of the Lakeshore trailhead. Construction on a new bridge that's being built.

Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail Trail

Tedious and Buggy

October, 2021 by abele40000

I started in Layton going south in October for a leisure ride, and my first few miles were just tedious with all the dangerous gates you have to virtually walk through...but the worst was the sea of gnats that covered me. It finally opened up a bit with fewer and less-trafficked crossings and fewer bugs, but of course I had to return... next time I'll drive to Farmington and head south.

Spanish Fork River Trail

Spanish Fork River Trail August 2021

August, 2021 by midj

First time riding this trail. It is a hidden gem. Well maintained with a few cracks and bumps. Trail closed at the far west end that circles the frisbee park. Careful on the tight twisting turns to the underpass. Highly recommend but hope it doesn't get too crowded.

Barney's Creek Trail

This trail was pretty short, but of course the beautiful mountains were visible, and there were some lovely parks, houses, trees, and schools to be seen.

Provo River Parkway

Provo Canyon Bike Trail

July, 2021 by xn7ji6dxtw

Scenic but very poor condition. Had to avoid many holes and roots. Foot traffic was very congested at times. Had to avoid hordes of kids in packs running cross country!

Old Emigration Trail

Potential for Better

July, 2021 by acewickwire

Started at Jensen Nature Park with intent to ride the loop at south end of trail but lots of construction and confusing detours. Returned to Jensen Nature Park and rode north to W 300 N street. Looked like trail ended there, so turned around. My bad for not consulting map and would have seen left turn for short distance and then continue north. Oh well. There is some signage along the trail but only one sign post indicating Old Emigration Trail the remainders have other names for different segments, I guess. Anyway not a clearly marked trail and several places of construction on going. Trail surface was fine and plenty wide enough. Maybe at a later date if back in the area would give it another try.

Provo River Parkway

Fun and Beautiful Ride

July, 2021 by boy_jay

July 2021 We started at the boat docks and went all the way up and back. The trail is not bad but has a few issues. It is bumpy in places and a few of the tunnels under the roads become so narrow that you will collide if someone is coming the other direction. We quickly learned to pause and yell to see if anyone was already under/inside. You bypass suburban neighborhoods and then follow the Provo River up the beautiful canyon past Bridal Vail Falls and to a small but picturesque park. Overall a fun ride.

Weber River Parkway

great

June, 2021 by dfms7dpsvb

I started from the north side and rode south until I reached 4400 by riverdale. There are some areas that need maintenance but overall in good shape. Sometimes it’s hard to follow but I used the map on here. My only complaint is the sharp turns that make it hard to see oncoming traffic so I’m hesitant to pick up speed in some areas. It’s great for a casual ride with lots of shade.

Highway 18 Path

clockwise is the way to go

June, 2021 by aparrott58

park at the TH just outside the north entrance of Snow Canyon Park and you park for free. Travel southward on Hiway 18 and connect to the Snow Canyon park trail in St Geo. I tried the loop counterclockwise (i was lured in this direction by the stellar views of the Park. I should have followed the reviews tho). The hills on this path are over 15% - there are 3 of them. on our ebikes they were still a struggle. although there is one big hill going northward in Snow Canyon Park (entrance fee is $5 per bike versus $15 for car), the top 1.5 miles where you share the park road allows you to maybe hitch a ride with a friendly vehicle going northward (and uphill) thus allowing you to complete the loop and not push your bike uphill for 1.5 miles. the use of internal combustion engines (unless you hitch a ride with an e-car) is the way to go.

The crazy thing is that the path designers should have used switchbacks on the steep hills (there was room on all the hills) instead of paralleling the highway. At times it made more sense to bike the highway to avoid the hills (the highway hills were at a less steep grade).
