Porter Rockwell Trail

has been extended

June, 2020 by artinxs

I went exploring to discover the Porter Rockwell trail now continues into Lehi. One can make their way to the Murdock Canal Trail though there is still construction and I can't find any updates. Since the frontage road is so dangerous, I'm very happy to see the extension. Hoping it's completed soon.

Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail Trail

Safety Barriers Annoying

June, 2020 by acewickwire

Location: Layton, UT
Parking: Near the trail intersection with Hill Field Road, Layton.
Trail Condition: Very good, smooth and wide, few lateral cracks but not many.
Signage: Very minimal. Not a lot required but would have been good to have signage indicating end of D&RGW and start of Legacy Trail on South end of trail.
Comments: Rode the trail on Wednesday afternoon with a lot of traffic on the trail. Encounter a wide variety of trail users. Yet, not so many users as to make riding not enjoyable. This very much an old rail bed and is pretty much a straight shot. Still a nice ride. Rode the southern portion of trail from the intersection with Hill Field Road down to the Legacy Trail. Lots and lots of street crossings with safety barriers that have to zig-zag through, sort of annoying.

Provo River Parkway

A beautiful ride!

June, 2020 by jimmy.zimmerman

We have someone drop us off at Vivian Park and ride down the canyon. It is a beautiful, easy downhill ride. Usually, we end at the trailhead parking lot at the mouth of the canyon. This is a good distance for kids (8+).

Porter Rockwell Trail

A very fun ride!

June, 2020 by jimmy.zimmerman

This is a really great family trail. We usually start at Draper Park at the trailhead across 1300 E. There are great shade trees and fun things to see, including a real life zebra, emus, and peacock. It’s a great trail for walking, scooters, and bikes. The last part of the trail, starting on the south side of 1300 E (near Highland Drive) has some fun rolling hills. We like to complete the ride by taking the Draper Canal trail for a complete loop. Lots of fun!

Moab Canyon Pathway

Stunning Views and Smooth Riding

June, 2020 by jacmar1

Recently visited Moab and parked at Lions Park to enjoy the Canyon Parkway. We headed east initially and road to the end which is approximately 4 miles. All along the Colorado River with the bright orange canyon cliffs towering on both sides.Must have ridden this section half a dozen times as the changing light continually provided different effects depending on the time of day we rode.Did cross the Colorado River bridge and rode on to The Arches but the park was not yet open because of Corona issues. Not a long ride but the scenery and well maintained trail surface are tough to beat. They working on the trail to town from Lions Park but not completed at this time!

Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park

Easy Day

June, 2020 by ilovemypetrock

If you start from Park City the entire trail is basically downhill. We really enjoyed the views the whole way, even along I-80. Lots of cute little tidbits of info along the way.

Mountain View Corridor Trail

pretty fun trail

May, 2020 by jimmy.zimmerman

We started in Daybreak, at 11400 So and rode north. Traveling north has a constant uphill grade and we were fighting a strong headwind. It gets pretty smelly near the Dannon plant. The northernmost part of the trail (north of 6200) drops in elevation really quickly, which was really fun. It would be fun to try this riding the other direction.

Virgin River Trail

The trail has been completed and open south of Sullivan Park all the way through. No more detour on Riverside. Beautiful new section with new boardwalks and pleasant scenery and river. The wait is over and we are happy!

Weber River Parkway

road cycling

May, 2020 by clairehowells

Don’t bother riding south of the Riverdale city office unless you want a 1mile quick loop - at the footbridge the trail turns to gravel. Head north and its lovely with a few short inclines; great for beginner cyclists to learn gearing and control. Lots of dogs and pedestrians so take it easy and ride early!

Old Emigration Trail

Great Trail
