Beginning at the entrance to the Dona Ana Community College in eastern Las Cruces, the Calle Jitas Trail runs along the adjacent boulevard of the same name for just over a mile, passing through the outskirts of suburban neighborhoods before ending at the edge of developed land. Trail users are provided ample views of the majestic mountain range to the east, which helps provide the trail with more of a scenic feel than this suburban sidepath might otherwise have. On the western end, a short distance on the sidewalk connects the trail with the Sonoma Ranch Multi-Use Path and the Alameda Arroyo Trail, providing residents with excellent access to the area trail network, and helping to make sure that cyclists and pedestrians are able to get around as safely as possible.
Parking is available at the Dona Ana Community College, located on Calle Jitas Boulevard just off of Sonoma Ranch Boulevard. Additonal on-street parking may be available; be sure to follow any posted parking signs and regulations.
