The Outfall Channel Trail mimics the Alameda Arroyo (seasonal stream) as it travels from west to east across Las Cruces. The paved trail, nearly 4.5 miles long was built to connect two other city trails: the La Llorona Multi-Use Path in the west, along the Rio Grande, and the Triviz Multi-Use Path in the east. Beginning from its intersection with La Llorona, the paved trail travels east through a landscape that transitions from farmland to dense urban residences and businesses.
There are street-level crosswalks along the trail at various points so proceed with caution. There is also a bridge over the Arroyo, bracketed by bollards to slow trail users down as they approach it.
There is no dedicated parking along this trail.
Nice Asphalt Trail. Many road crossings having to go through many trail pillars.
