The northern end of the Floyd River Trail begins at Floyd Boulevard at the doorstep to Leeds Elementary School, where the Outer Drive Trail links up from the west. From there, the paved pathway crosses a set of railroad tracks and then parallels the Floyd River as it heads southwest through Sioux City. Midway, the trail borders the ball fields of Headid Park.
Note that the trail has an open feel with little shade and a portion of the route runs adjacent to active railroad tracks in a scenario known as rail-with trail.
Trail access and restrooms can be found in Headid Park (2404 Hawkeye, Sioux City).
Great trail and a fun ride! I would definitely recommend! Nice and peaceful, hardly anyone else was on it!
