Print Friendly MapThe Singing Hills Trail is a hybrid blend of suburban/industrial sidepath and pleasant park trail, traversing through the Singing Hills neighborhood in southern Sioux City, Iowa. The western end of the trail lies near the banks of the Missouri River, in a commercial area just off the interstate. While this section of the trail isn't much to look at, it lies just a stone's throw south of Chautauqua Park, which is home to a trail of the same name and a number of athletic fields.
Proceeding east along the sidepath trail, you pass by a number of hotels and restaurants before the surroundings turn a bit more open and natural. The trail switches over to the north side of the road via an underpass, which marks the beginning of a lengthy loop trail that runs throughout Cone Park and Sertoma Park, providing a welcome reprieve from roadways and industry with plenty of open space and wooded pockets. After enjoying a leisurely stroll or ride through the parks, you can continue for a bit further east along Singing Hills Boulevard, before the trail comes to an end along South Lakeport Street. Giving residents of the nearby growing neighborhoods a convenient means of recreation and exercise, the Singing Hills Trail is a great asset that should provide an anchor for the area for years to come.
Parking is available at Cone Park, located at 3800 Line Drive, and at Sertoma Park, located just off of Lancelot Lane north of Singing Hills Boulevard in Sioux City. The trail is easily reachable from exit 143 off of Interstate 29.
