Overview
The Grange Hall Creek Trail carries trail users across Thornton, Colorado, located just north of Denver for 6.72 miles. The entire route is paved and links several parks, communities as well as other trail connections.
About the Route
At the trail's northern endpoint, the trail leaves off from the Farmer's High Line Canal Trail and heads south. After about three-quarters of a mile, the trail hinges east and passes through Grant Park, Alvin B. Thomas Park and Jaycee Park. The trail then passes underneath an active light rail line (which trail users can use to access the route!) and then crosses the much larger Stonehecker Park and Carpenter Park, the latter of which offers an amphitheater, boathouse, skate park, and much more.
After Carpenter Park, the trail verges slightly south as it continues east and meanders alongside the Colorado Agricultural Canal. There are many intersecting concrete paths here, so trail users should watch out for wayfinding signage that points the users in the correct direction towards Riverdale Rd.
The southernmost section of the trail heads east and then south, passing E 100th Ave. and then all the way south until reaching the Platte River Trail, along which trail users can continue their journey.
Connections
At the trail's northern end, it connects to the Farmer's High Line Canal Trail.
At the trail's southern end, trail users can continue along the Platte River Trail.
The Grange Hall Creek Trail runs between Farmer's High Line Canal Trail (Northglenn) and Platte River Trail (Thornton).
