Greybull is a small town about an hour’s drive from Cody, Wyoming. Its Riverwalk is along the town’s eastern edge, running its entire 3-mile length from north to south along the Big Horn River. The paved riverside pathway is a favorite recreational spot for locals, running adjacent to Greybull City Park and including numerous spurs that lead into the surrounding neighborhoods.
The trail passes close to the Greybull City Park. The park hosts a variety of amenities including restrooms, tree-shaded picnic tables, walking paths, skate ramps and a children’s play area. From the park’s northern end, you can access the trail via 2nd Avenue; from its southern end, past the Senior Center, you can enter the trail via 5th Avenue S.
The trail said it was 3 miles but was only two. The steep sides made it impossible to get a good workout. Trail better for walking than biking.
Two mile trail is flat and smooth. The highways coming into town have paved shoulders and not much traffic in the evening, so consider riding on the shoulders if you need more exercise. The paved county road north of the rodeo grounds is also a nice ride.
