The quaint town of Buffalo, Wyoming, boasts a growing trail system, including the William J. Mentock Trail. This crushed-stone pathway traces Clear Creek, meandering through forests of ponderosa pine, from the west side of town toward the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains. Though the route offers a moderate challenge, trail users are rewarded with spectacular views along the way.
On the east end of the trail, parking is available off Turkey Lane, just south of Highway 16.
