Hummingbird Trail Description

The family-friendly 7.5-mile Hummingbird Trail is a scenic ride that runs between the charming town of Henderson north to Blakley along the Minnesota River parallel to the Minnesota River Scenic Byway on a pristine asphalt trail. The trail brings scenic natural landscapes, wildlife, especially bird watching (including its namesake hummingbirds) for all to enjoy.

About 7 miles north from Henderson is the Kerfoot Canopy Tour, an adventure park offering other challenges off the trail. The trail reaches its north end at County Rd 5 Faxon Road, just a short road away from the town of Blakely.

Parking for the Hummingbird Trail is available at its southern end, Bender Park (Market & 3rd St.).

Parking is also available at:

Pristine Trail

Hummingbird Trail just open in late May and the pavement is perfect. The trail is mostly flat and lightly rolling. Perfect for family fun ride! There is so much to see and do along the trail and nearby making a great family weekend destination.
The only downside to the trail is that fact there is no shade along the trail. So, some hot & humid days could be difficult. Shade is available at the Main Trail head In Henderson.
I would suggest starting in Henderson and you can turn around at any time, there are milage markers along the way as well as benches to rest at every mile.
