The James T. Corcoran Memorial Greenway is a paved trail that runs through several New Castle County parks between Newark and Wilmington, traversing wooded land along the route of the Christina River - a refreshing, natural corridor tucked in between suburban development.
The trail's western end begins in Christiana off of State Route 7, heading east via a convenient highway underpass and entering the forested borders of Lewden Greene Park. The trail splits, with a spur heading south through the park down to the busy Christiana Road, while the main path continues closer to the river and heads into the residential communities to the east.
As the trail continues on, short spurs provide access to the neighborhoods that border its forested route, before the paved path comes to an end north of Ridge Drive - an unpaved route continues on along the utility corridor line up to Churchmans Road.
There is no dedicated parking for this trail; be sure to follow any posted parking signs and regulations when accessing the trail.
