The Senator Patricia M. Blevins Pedestrian Path is a short but well-paved pathway that runs between the Delaware town of Elsmere's Fairgrounds Park and Maple Avenue Park, giving local residents a safe and convenient option for exercise and recreation. The path is named in honor of the town's former mayor, who helped get the trail built as a state senator. While a large stretch of the trail runs through a utility corridor adjacent to a rail yard, the western end of the trail does offer more serene scenery, matching the wooded course of the Little Mill Creek.
The trail may not be worth going out of your way to visit, but it provides a great option for local cyclists and pedestrians to get in some quality outdoor time.
Parking is available at the Fairgrounds Park lot, located at the eastern end of the trail at the intersection of Dover Avenue and Filbert Avenue in Elsmere. Additional on-street parking may be available along the route of the trail.
