The John DeShields Trail parallels NE John DeShields Boulevard between NE J Street and Central Avenue, conveniently connecting to the J Street Trail and Heritage Trail at its endpoints. Unlike most of Bentonville's concrete-surfaced trails, the John DeShields Trail has an asphalt surface for its entire route.
The trail also provides access to Orchards Park and Memorial Park. The former features an amphitheater and water feature, while the latter offers an aquatic center and several athletic fields. Both allow trail users to rest, picnic or enjoy internal park trails, including the Memorial Park Fitness Trail.
Ample parking for the John DeShields Trail is available at Orchards Park (1100 NE John DeShields Boulevard) and Memorial Park (401 NE Martin Luther King Jr Parkway) in Bentonville.
