Krome Path Description

The Krome Path is a bicycle and pedestrian off-street trail in the southwestern Miami metro area. It’s 18.5 miles long, paralleling Krome Avenue between SW 8th and SW 296th Street. It’s a fairly flat, easy ride with intermittent shade depending on the direction of the sun. The trail provides a north-south alternative for non-motorized vehicle users.

The Krome Path is part of the Miami Loop, as well as the Florida Greenways and Trail Network. At its northern end, it meets the Tamiami Trail and the City of Homestead to the south. The project began in 2015 and was completed in January 2021.

Parking and Trail Access

You can find parking on an adjacent street at SW 112th Street & Krome Avenue (by the bridge).

You may also be able to park at Dade Corners (gas station/market) at Tamiami Trail (SW 8th Street) & Krome Avenue.

Krome Path Reviews

Lots of Crossings

This trail is nice but has a lot of driveways that people are constantly using. There is a lot of Debris on the path so use caution.

great trail

This is a great trail for a chil ride. Starts on 8st all the way down to 232.

it’s good until you go south if 88th st

I decided to take the path from the southern side of it up to the casino. The first half heading up was horrible. I was dodging horse poop since there’s this little place that rents out horses and encourage them to use the trail, when cars turn in to cross the path they will run you over no matter how many lights you have on your bike or how obvious you make yourself appear, and there’s ATVs and agricultural tractors on the path. However, everything close to or past 88th at is good. They need to start enforcing rules on this trail.

Good not great

This trail has been extended and is now about 15 miles but you'll find me on the first 5 miles of Krome Path. The northern/first 1/3 of the trail is by far the best, (this section gets 5 stars) as you go south theres more and more driveways with rumble strips and street crossings. After a rain storm, lots of sand, gravel and debris can be on the path making it difficult for road bikes or skateboarders like myself. Overall, this is one of the safest places to ride in South Florida and its a great place for serious training. But, it's 30 mins from my apartment and can get quite boring at times.
