The Central West Basin Linear Park in Miami-Dade County includes a 12-foot-wide asphalt pathway, which stretches for 1.5 miles south from NW 12 Street to SW 6 Street. Running parallel to 136th Place and 136th Court, the route is well-lit by solar-powered lampposts and has wayfinding signage, crosswalks, and native landscaping.
Located west of downtown Miami, the park and its multiuse trail provides a beautiful green space with multiple recreational opportunities. Locals can enjoy an evening stroll or morning bike ride through their neighborhood. The trail is smooth and navigable for families with strollers and those using mobility devices.
Developed by Miami-Dade County in partnership with Florida Power and Light (FPL) and the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX), the 19.9-acre park opened in the summer of 2022. It is also known as the FPL Linear Park & Trail. Future plans for the park include adding a playground, a recreation shelter, a bike repair station, drinking fountains, restrooms, and more.
There is no designated parking, but street parking may be available.
