Lakefront Trail Description

At nearly 4 miles, the Lakefront trail connects Beard Park to McCord Park via scenic lakeshore route. The trail is a combination of crushed granite and boardwalk over wetlands. It was officially opened in the Fall of 2017 in Little Elm, an extended suburb of Dallas, Texas. The trail is a combination of crushed gravel and boardwalk, drawing walkers, joggers and mountain bikers alike. There are access points to the water for those wishing to fish as well.

Parking and Trail Access

The trail has four trail heads:

  • Hula Hut restaurant, southwest of Beard Park
  • Beard Park (310 E. Eldorado Parkway)
  • Harts Road & El Dorado Parkway
  • McCord Park (2050 FM423)

The two parks provide a number of amenities, including parking. Beard Park offers restrooms, a pavilion and a tree-themed playground. McCord Park has picnic tables, a playground, passive green space and an 18-hole disc golf course. Hula hut trailhead parking is the lot east of Hula Hut and not the actual restaurant lot.

Lakefront Trail Reviews

Great ride

Rode the trail on my E-bike from Farmersville for 17miles. You start to run in to big mud puddles after 10 miles as of March 30 but I’m sure that will dry up in the next month or so.

very nice trail

My wife and I really enjoyed riding this trail. It is very well maintained. We will definitely ride this one again!

very well taken care of!

Trails were very well taken care of. Grass and grounds were cut and well maintained. Paths were wide and clean.

Good for running

Very nice wide trail thats good for taking a nice long run. The dirt is packed but very easy on your joints. There is plenty of space to go around people without having to break your stride.

great ride

Very good trail. Family friendly

Great views

Trail is partially paved, partially dirt but a smooth enough ride. It’s nice and long and makes you feel like you’re out of the city.
