This multipurpose trail provides a safe, non-motorized alternative to cross the Ohio River between Jeffersonville, Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky. The two-lane paved trail actually starts 1.4 miles north of the river on Old Salem Road in Jeffersonville. The trail parallels IN-265 up to the Lewis and Clark Bridge, protected from road traffic by a split rail fence. At the mouth of the bridge, there's an overlook with benches and interpretive signage. The trail continues to parallel the bridge/ KY-841, offering unobstructed views of the Ohio River. On the Kentucky side, the trail stretches past the end of the bridge before terminating on River Road.
The Lewis and Clark Bridge Trail is open to both pedestrians and cyclists.
No dedicated trail parking is available at this time.
