The Mt. Olivet Trail is an example of a road to trail conversion in picturesque southern Chester County.
About the Route
Located in rural Franklin Township near the Maryland and Delaware state lines, the tree-lined dirt and gravel trail begins at a metal gate off Walker Road. It passes primarily through wooded land, paralleling a tributary to the nearby Big Elk Creek. Since it was once an automobile road, the trail is not entirely level, though the grade is minimal and there are no steep hills. However, the mix of dirt, gravel and grass surface makes the trail best suited for hiking and mountain biking.
Connections
Trail users can connect to the nearby Springlawn Trail via a short walk or ride from the southern terminus down Strickersville Road.
The Mt. Olivet Trail runs between Walker Rd. (Franklin) and Strickersville Rd. (Franklin), where there is parking available.
