The trail is known as the Mud Lick Creek Greenway trail since it follows the route of the nearby waterway. Alternatively, some folks refer to it as the Garst Mill Park Greenway, after the park whose length it travels down. By any name, this 0.5 mile of asphalt would remain just as beloved. Though short, the paved trail is popular with residents of the Roanoke neighborhoods in which it is nestled, both for its easy paved surface that can be used by people of all ages, and for its natural treasures. The trail travels through open meadow and woodland, with native plantings and bright flowers dotting the way. Garst Mill Park also contains baseball, basketball and tennis facilities, and picnic areas.
Park at Garst Mill Park (2599 Willowlawn St.) and then follow the trail south to Cresthill Drive.
