The Palatka Urban Trail is a connector between the Lake Butler-Palatka section and the Palatka-St. Augustine Trail. It was completed in 2013 and stretches about 2 miles. The western half of the trail on the former right-of-way of the Georgia Southern and Florida railroad whereas the eastern portion lies on a combination of off-road trails and on-road bike lanes.
Palatka's position as an emerging trail hub was recently recognized by the Florida Office and Greenways and Trails. The city is a now a designated Florida Trail Town.
There is no designated parking area but there may be on-street parking available. You may be able to park at the train station on N. 11th Street and Main. Be sure to follow local parking regulations.
The trail officially begins at N 1st St and Main. This part is not so interesting. The interesting part starts at the railroad station and going north and then west from there. Parking is easy at the railroad station, too.
