Built as a connector road on the outskirts of Dover, Kent County's POW/MIA Memorial Parkway also serves as a connector for cyclists and pedestrians, thanks to the paved sidepath trail constructed alongside the roadway. The trail features relatively few road crossings along the three-mile route, thanks to the undeveloped nature of much of the surrounding land.
On the northern end, the trail begins at a junction with the Hazlettville/North Shared-Use Path, which trail users can follow east into Dover. Heading south, the trail passes over rolling hills and marshy flats with no shade as it winds its way down to Brecknock County Park, accessible via a short spur path along Highway 13. As development continues to expand outward around Dover, the POW/MIA Parkway Shared-Use Path will help to ensure that residents have biking and walking transportation options available to connect neighborhoods with recreation sites and the rest of the area trail network.
Parking and restrooms are available at the southern end of the trail in Brecknock County Park, located at 80 Old Camden Road in Camden, just off of Highway 13.
