The Salina Levee Trail traverses the flood control levee along the west bank of the Smoky Hill River in Salina. The trail connects to parks, including the sprawling Bill Burke Sports Complex, as well as nearby residential developments. It offers glimpses of both the river and downtown Salina.
In the future, the trail will be extended along the entire length of the levee, almost completely encircling Salina.
Parking for the Salina Levee Trail is available at the Bill Burke Sports Complex on E. Crawford Street, Oxbow Park at the eastern end of McAdams Road and the Salina Soccer Complex on E. Magnolia Road.
The trail is very flat and wide and well maintained with the crushed stone. The grass was cut on the sides of the trail. It passes two parks with ball fields and restrooms, but there are no benches, trash cans, or restrooms on the trail. The trail also passes by some homes and farm fields.
Super nice trail with crushed stone. Many on/off access points along the way. It is not busy at all. There were a few walkers & runners. There are not many roadways to cross either
