The Westgate Trail runs for over a mile in the southwest Albuquerque neighborhood of Westgate Heights, forming part of a network of trails (along with the 98th Street Multi-Use Trail, the Snow Vista Trail, and the Amole Arroyo Trail) that runs north and south through the residential area. The paved trail runs behind homes and alongside the adjacent concrete-capped channel, giving local cyclists and pedestrians a convenient means of traversing the area to destinations like local parks like Sunrise Terrace Park, the local middle school, and the Westgate Community Center. The trail minimizes the number of required road crossings, but trail users should remember to exercise caution when the trail does continue across the road. Ending at Benavides Road, the Snow Vista Channel Trail picks up right where it leaves off.
Parking is available along the trail at Sunrise Terrace Park, on 102nd Street just west of the trail. Additional parking is available south of the trail's end at the community center, located at the intersection of Snow Vista Boulevard and Camino San Martin.
